This is my last blog post before having the baby and what better way to sign off, than telling you all about our recent Pregnancy Retreat at Ribby Hall Spa Hotel!
It has been a stressful few weeks, with all of the extra appointments due to the baby measuring below the 10th centile - we have been going to the hospital for check-ups multiple times a week and it was starting to get a bit overwhelming and exhausting.
A couple of weeks ago, Dan and I had got to the point where we really needed a break, so when Ribby Hall Spa Hotel contacted us to see if we wanted to try out their new Pregnancy Retreat, I jumped at the chance!
The retreat was for two days, so it meant spending our first night away from Alfred EVER. I know a lot of people have done it by the time their child is two years old, but we've never felt the time was right, until this year. With the new baby arriving next month, we knew this was our only chance to spend a night away from home, for a long while!

A lot of you lovely people on Instagram wanted updates on how the baby's nursery was coming along, so I thought I would do a "before and after" style blog post.
I had planned on two separate posts this month - a post about some beautiful things I was collecting for the baby and another post featuring the nursery renovation. I realised it would make more sense to combine them into one post, especially as time is now limited with the baby being induced early (eek!). So as well as showing you around Baby Girl's new room, I will be sharing with you some lovely brands and shops that have helped to make her little space happy and welcoming.

Autumn is here and I'm so happy!
Apart from it being my favourite season, it also means that it won't be long until Baby Girl arrives and I get to smush her.
With the change of season, there have been a lot of changes around here recently too - Dan and I are still going crazy with the DIY, making sure the house is ready before a newborn comes along. We have both been cramming in lots of last bits of work too, before I wind down and go into holiday mode for maternity leave. Alfred has also started preschool and he LOVES it. I was convinced that he would only do two three-hour sessions as week to begin with... turns out, he adores it so much that he is already doing four sessions a week! He has adapted so quickly and I'm so proud of him for being so independent and confident. Me, on the other hand, not so much. Even though the extra time has been wonderful, it has taken me a few weeks to adjust mentally to the new situation. It is strange being away from him so much... I think the fact that I have had so many extra hospital appointments, outside of his preschool hours, hasn't helped. It has meant that I have been away from him even more than expected, these past couple of weeks.
I have been so busy with work too, that I haven't had a chance to use the time that Alfred is at preschool, to just sit and chill.
Last week, Dan and I decided to turn that around and go into town for breakfast. We had such a lovely time, that we vowed to take little trips out together more and so we did it again yesterday!
Both trips were the perfect opportunity to wear my lovely clothes from Isabella Oliver, who this post is in partnership with.
I felt dressed up and comfortable. That, paired with going out with my love and spending some quality time with him, was the perfect pick-me-up (I feel like I say "pick-me-up" all the time these days! Apologies for overusing that phrase!).
