Whilst trying to think of yummy snacks for Alfred, that we could take on days out and to fill in the gaps at home, I discovered these savoury muffins. They are by no means an original creation of my own, but after some recipe research, this is what I came up with. They are added salt and sugar free and you can put any fillings in that you want - raspberries, spinach, cheese, banana... you name it! The best part is that they are so delicious, the whole family can enjoy them!
I have lusted after the Yawn pajamas for ages! I finally got some last week and they didn't disappoint. They are really soft and comfortable, perfect for relaxing in when you are not getting much sleep. Each design comes in two weights, one that is more lightweight for Summer and a heavier one for the colder months. They also arrive in the sweetest packaging!
You may have notice in the photos above, that we have two separate duvets on our bed!
Dan and I are both duvet hogs and the situation was getting ridiculous. We spotted that in a lot of European countries, it is completely normal for couples to have a single duvet each on their bed, even separate mattresses pushed together! We decided to do both and haven't looked back since. We don't disturb each other when tossing and turning at night, but are still right next to each other, so we don't lose that connection. I would love to hear you thought on this? To duvet share or to not?
I recently discovered Bloom & Wild, a flower delivery service that send their blooms to you in a flat box, so they can be posted straight through your front door! Each parcel comes with instructions on how to arrange your bouquet and look after your flowers. They even have an app, which allows you to keep on top of birthdays and other celebrations, so you can send gifts with complete ease. Perfect!
I feel like this Summer is going to be the best yet, with little Alfred here! He is just starting to walk and is loving everything outside at the moment. It is so much fun, chasing after him and showing him all that the outdoors has to offer. His favourite things are looking at the ducks, trying to eat flowers, picking daisies and going down the slide at the park. I only wish that he would keep his hat on, any tips anyone?!
Babywearing. Not for everyone, but I love it.
When he was a newborn, he loved to be held close to me all of the time (as newborns tend to do). That was very lovely, but could be a bit awkward when going to the loo or cooking dinner. One day I decided to try a wrap and lo and behold, he was as happy as Larry. I could cook dinner hands free! I could go to the loo hands free! I could even do my hair and make up! All the while, Alfred was calm and relaxed and sometimes asleep.
As he got bigger, I started using a silk sling from Mezaya Baby, as the silk felt more supportive for bigger babies. Even now, at the age of one, I can comfortably carry him around in it.
I love how relaxed he can be while being worn and how it can make him see things at my height. It is very interactive for him and gives him the confidence to explore new things. When he is having a clingy day, because he is unwell or teething, I can pop him in and busy myself around the house still.
When looking for new wraps and slings, I have a few things that I look out for.
First and foremost, they have to be safe (when babywearing, please remember TICKS). But for me, they also have to look nice. If I am going to wear one all the time, I want it to be a part of my outfit.
In my collection, I have a couple of beautiful Mezaya Baby slings. The slings are made of silk, so are very supportive and easy to clean. They also look really pretty! The colour that I am wearing in the photos is Mint.
I will keep wearing Alfred as long as I can and will then keep the slings for, hopefully, future babies. He won't want me to hold him forever (sob), so I'm loving it while I can.
